What's the capacity gains form the Dasher to 6x44 to the 6gt, about a grain each?
Here's a little photo comparison I shared on another thread. Note how close in design the 6GT is to the old 6x44mm wildcat:

So, since I don’t already have dies for anything, I’m just really drawn to the attributes of the GT for benchrest accuracy at mid-to-long range.
Any thoughts? Am I missing something?
Tell em Birddog, birddog eventually talked me into a dasher. An absolute beast of a cartridge, accuracy is off the chart. I've shot several sub moa groups @600 & 1000 yds. I don't see a problem with the neck, at all. The dasher is a shooter, and it seems that fireforming or hydroforming lapua brass is the way to go. I've shot the alpha brass. Alpha brass is as consistent as alpha claims but it does not have the same capacity. I've been shooting RL16 and my powder charge I'm shooting in the lapua will not fit in the alpha.Don't sell the Dasher short for 1000 yards. Dasher and BRAI are winning 1000 yard Nationals for the past several years. The short neck is no problem. A BRDX and BRX have a slightly longer neck if that is what you want.
6GT, a solution to a problem that does not exist.
This. The only benefit a GT has over any of the BR variants is mag kits in the PRS world. Benchrest, I just don't see how it can come close to a dasher or ackley.
I have a GT for my PRS rifle, and its only because of the mag kits.
It's pretty much the same, only a little faster. Here's my GT at 100 yds.Question - please expand on why/how the 6GT can't come close to Dasher or 6BR AI. Are you referring to accuracy/precision of the cartridges, and if so then what is the difference that you have experienced and possible reason for it?
I have been waiting to see how accuracy of 6GT compared to Dasher. Thanks
