6 Dasher vs 6GT

I have searched and read all I can find on the newer GT case, but want some input from a different perspective.

I have had a straight BR and then had a short stent with a 6x47. I had great accuracy from both but felt the case capacity of the ‘47 was unnecessary and had been planning to go with a dasher for this next barrel. BUT, I’ve never liked the short neck, despite so many other great attributes of the little case.

Then I considered the long neck Norma chamber but there is no consensus on that brass.

Now the new GT case is coming out and Alpha brass will be available. It seems to me that might be a great case with the advantage of a longer neck than the Dasher, a little less capacity than the 6x47 and be able to shoot 105 and even the heavier 110’s out to 1000 if needed.

So, since I don’t already have dies for anything, I’m just really drawn to the attributes of the GT for benchrest accuracy at mid-to-long range.

Any thoughts? Am I missing something?

I have heard some pretty good stuff about this brass. Don't get me wrong, I hear the crying and squealing too, but I know a few folks who have good supplies and intend to keep it that way.

It'll take a bit of work but why not pop for the PBike dies and massage your cases to YOUR specs. I'm liking a long necked XC from Palma myself.

You mentioned Dasher needing a longer neck for your tastes..... I am not a Dasher proponent for that same reason.
Check the cartridge specs found on the home page here and see what is minimally larger and start the process. ;)

The neck and neck/shoulder junction on that 6-47 looks nasty

Don't sell the Dasher short for 1000 yards. Dasher and BRAI are winning 1000 yard Nationals for the past several years. The short neck is no problem. A BRDX and BRX have a slightly longer neck if that is what you want.

I like my br that is set up for PRS shooting, but if I was going for distances out to 1000 punching paper, I would look seriously at birdog's suggestion.
