6 Dasher stuck case issue

Just got me a new Proof SS barrel in 6 Dasher all mounted up this past week. The brass i have for it is used and has actually been used in 2 other barrels. In preparation for the new barrel I bought a ring sizer die to whip the head/web area into shape. The rounds chamber fine, no resistance to speak of. I can load and eject the rounds just fine. When they are fired they will absolutely not come out of the chamber. I fired 15 shots and had to use a cleaning rod to gently tap each one out. Stuck enough that it was taking shavings off the rim if I pulled the bolt enough. Brass doesn't have any obvious markings on it. Not sure where to go next.

Been through a few barrels with the same brass on different calibers without much issue. Didn't realize so many people threw away brass when they changed barrels. I dont think I can afford to replace my brass like that. That turns a barrel change into a lot more money and a ton more time. Guess I'll move to a br or something that doesn't require fireforming.

I have shot PPC and BRX brass in multiple barrels, never a problem. You have a problem you need to find. Is your brass to long and getting stuck in the throat?

If that new bbl/chamber has ever had any virgin brass though it without causing trouble, then fine, don’t try to re-use that previous brass if it continues to cause trouble... but... Why is this happening?

I still don’t think there is a valid reason for the previous brass to chamber well and then get stuck. Is there anything extraordinary about the last chamber or the new one that would cause this? Is one or both Of them very far from normal specifications? Was this last loading too hot?

I would hold off till I tried a virgin sample of either a fire formed Lapua or a piece of Alpha Brass before I would draw any conclusions. Even then, I would wait till the second cycle and compare dimensions to your old set.

Getting a clicker is one thing, needing to use a rod is another. I’m in for the range report and wish you luck with the debugging.

Thanks for the replies guys. I had another set of brass that was fired only one time that I tried also. Same issue, chambered fine with no issue, pull the trigger and brass is difficult to get out. I also was only shooting 32gr of varget which shouldn't be to hot based on every Dasher I've ever had or been around. Freebore is 135 on this one which is actually longer than my last barrel. I'll try and get a few pieces of brand new brass and see what happens.

Is the extractor slipping over the case rim upon chambering?
this may be it !!!!....we havent heard what kind of action is being used or what type of extractor is in place,,,if he is knocking them out routinely with a clenaing rod they are not STUCK very hard,,,this reminds me of being at a match one time and standing behind the fireing line one of the competetiors was franticly opening and closing his bolt,,it was not pulling the spent round ,,,he turned around and had that look on his face that said help,,,I said give me the bolt,,there was a few shavings of brass lodged under the extractor that was keeping it from grabbing the rim,,,I used my pocket knife to scrape them out and handed the bolt back to him and he completed his target,,,,Roger

Had that issue 2 or 3 times. Inexperienced gunsmith leaving a burr at the outer end of the chamber. Drove the brass out with a dowel rod, polished out the burr, no more problem.

Look for a thin ring on the fired case body, similar to the previous comment. If you have a bore scope look at the entire chamber.

Could you paint a fired case with a sharpy and rechamber it. Should show you where its sticking.

I will do this today when I get home. This is how I found my ring problem on a different barrel, not sure why I didn't think to do it this time. Thanks!
