6 Dasher or 308

Looking to build a brush rifle, maybe a little varmint hunting.

22" or 24" bull barrel.

Will it be a 6 Dasher or a 308 shooting 110 grain V-Maxes?

I have shot many 110 grain bullets in my 308 and they are awesome (never in a 24" barrel or less). I never chrono'd any of the loads.

I am curious if anyone has and what fps you're getting.

I would build or buy a 7mm08with the 120 hollow points it's like a pipe bomb and with the 140 Berger hunting bullets it is scary accurate. All with a savage i restocked and had the barrel recrowned. The longer magazine you can seat the bullets out . ……. jim

Dennis,
Your question about 308 or Dasher is like asking Corvette or Veyron. I have a ripping Corvette that is nothing to a Veyron and I also have a .308/708/.243 that is nothing to my Dashers. Brush gun; get a BLR in 708.

My personal brush gun is a 7mm-08.
If you must go 308 Sierra makes some nice 125s I think.
The vmax will frag on contact as it is designed to do.
