6 Creedmoor + Slow Powders

There are some old threads that are dated, pre Creedmoor that I didn’t dig back up, but did read.

I see the 4350’s and RL’s brought up but nothing on the slower burning powders. I will admit to being a speed freak, but accuracy trumps speed, more so with the heavies.
Anyone running say H1000 or RL26 with good results?

I was using IMR4831 (Dupont 1984) in my 6 creed, was not running it too fast 3050 FPS it was consistent and accurate so I ended up buying some of the new IMR4831 at it worked just as well.

My go to was H4350 but I had the old powder decided lets give it a shot and I was pleasantly surprised.

How was your barrel life?

My 6cm gas gun LOVES IMR 7828ssc with 105gr amax! Yes my gas block is turned way down.
I don't know why I ever tried it but is the most accurate AR rifle I've ever had. If my stick shift 6cm didn't already shoot H4831SC so good I'd try 7828 in it.

Well, I'll be a monkeys uncle. I was under the assumption that those powders were too slow but it seems there is data out there now.

I shot 48 grs of Retumbo, yes Retumbo , in my standard 243 with a 26” barrel and 105 AMaxes and worked great. Good velocity 3070 and low ES.
Just saying this as the case capacity of the Creedmoor and the 243 Win are quite similar when you factor in a seated bullet in each!
