Shot again this morning. Bright sunshine and 72° and a nice cooling breeze at 6:00. Tested 65.0 to 67.0 grains of Retumbo. Primers are still nice and rounded on the edge and extraction is easy. Low end velocity was 2915 average and upper end was 2980. Accuracy has started to come around by the time I got to 67 grains. I had 2 bullets in 1 hole and pushed the 3rd shot but was under 3/4". Tomorrow morning I may go 67 to 69 and see what that gets me. Hopefully there is a nice node to fall into. I don't have a ton of faith in my chronograph numbers but it is the best info I have available. I think it is time to just do accuracy work then purchase a Magnetospeed and get better velocity data to set my ballistic profile in my G7. Since this will be a hunting rifle I am a little apprehensive about trying to jam my bullets but if I get to a point where I need just a little more accuracy I will play with seating depth and see what happens. I don't have a micrometer seater so my bullets are just off where the riflings leave a mark on a seated bullet.
