6 BR Re-barrel / Go / No Go gauges multi question

Savage PTA: Savage Factory BBL replacement:
I have a Shilen 26" 1-8 TW. Going to try and do this myself. Can I assume the Savage Nut and recoil lug will fit on the new Shilen?

Should I buy Go and No Go Gauges.. Midsouth $29.36 each.. I've heard just buy the go gauge and then use Scotch tape.

I use a new barrel nut but the recoil lug is thicker and may require you to re bed ( if bedded) around the lug.
I cannot see a downside to owning both gages.

I put a 26" Shilen w/ 1:7.5 ratchet twist on my RPR. Shoots wonderfully! When installing it, set the headspace to the Go gauge with no slop, and save your money and don't bother with the no-go gauge. You will be BARELY bumping your shoulders in the future, and your brass will last a loooong time. I love the 6BR. I'm sure there will be more in my future.

Common clear packing’s tape is about two thou, layer/layers on the back face of go gauge give better resolution than a go gauge.
I always use a aftermarket nut and lug.
