6 ARC for youth.

She's a farm girl so no worries about company around when shooting.
Good, some guy cracking of with a 338 Lupa around an untrained person who's not acclimated to noise can cause issues for some time. My daughter was a problem for a couple years after a neighbor was being an idiot with fireworks. She's good to go now! TAKE whatever time it takes and she'll do fine, my daughter still does not like surprises noises but when at the range she expects it. She was shooting a 12lb Napolean, 2 years ago.

I looked into this one also. The Ruger has a more adjustable stock system which is the reason I chose it.
Cartridge/Caliber wise 6mm was as small as I wanted to go and with the 6 ARC being small cased with a decent ballistic profile I chose it.
I realize that there are some compromises being made but I think for her it's the better choice, not much recoil, enough energy on target to give the performance on game and good accuracy all while keeping her comfortable and enjoying shooting and hunting.

edit to add: The price of the Ruger was $549 so not much difference and no shipping.
I have no experience with the Ruger Rifle, The Howa 1500 is basically a Wetherby Vanguard, and I have had one, (Howa) for varmints for over 25 years. My granddaughter shoots it and I'm leaving it to her when I depart the loading bench.

The 6MM ARC has a very slight bit more recoil than the 5.56/223, I have it in an Aero Precision M4E AR15. I also have an AR15 A2 in 5.56 x 45 and the two rifles weigh the same, both have muzzle brakes and recoil is just a tad more for the 6MM. The advantage of the 6MM ARC starts to be seen in 10 to 15 MPH gusts at 300 yards. The 103 ELDX get me a 3/4" average at 100 and the 105 ELDM average about 1/2" at 100. The only suppressed shooting I do now is in the barn with a Beretta.

So what may be the plan for accommodating something close to a proper length of pull on the Ruger?
They have inserts to reduce length of pull along with different height cheek risers and also a weight system for the rear stock.
I haven't fit her yet so I'm not sure exactly what length will be.
I just picked the rifle up a week ago and I'm getting it broken in yet.

Edit to add.... I bought 4 boxes of Hornady ammo (2 boxes each) of 105 bthps and 108 eldms. The 108s shoot fairly good even with shoot and clean style. I'll use this brass for the first handloads when I'm finished.
Ordered Starline.

Be extremely careful and either load for gas gun pressures or mark the containers of your reloads BOLT GUN ONLY!

I don't have an AR in 6 ARC.
The brass I'll have will stay with this rifle (I've done this since I started loading in the 60s).
