New to 6-ARC

I am thinking of getting a Ruger Gen 2 in 6 ARC. I have Wilson hand dies (neck sizer and bullet seater) for both 6.5 Grendel and 6ppc. Can I use these dies to load the 6 ARC? Just wondering about what all I will have to get before I jump off into the 6 ARC.

Can't you just load it with PPC dies?
You probably can, just like a 6BR die can size a 6BRX, but it won't quite size to the bottom of the case because the 6ARC is .030 or .040 longer than a PPC. Best bet is buy the right sizing die. That said though, you can seat arc bullets with a ppc seater die. Ya just have to back it off if in a press. A wilson type ppc seater die will just stop at the shoulder, so your seating depth will be dependent up how consistent the shoulder bump is, among other things. Just don't get ham fisted with an arbor press and move the shoulder while seating bullets. I load a lot of 6 Grendel ammo and I use a redding ppc comp seater for it and it's a tad longer still, than an arc is. I use a 22ppc seater on a 22 arc/grendel. I made a sleeve for a redding comp seater for a 30 Major/Grendel. Sizing dies are a different ballgame though.

What I know is, a 6ppc, a 6arc and a 6 grendel are all similar, but are not the same.

Thanks for the replies.
Will be when you shoot them a few times. I shoot a custom 6ARC bolt gun and FL size every time. Keep it consistent.
When I was shooting HP Silhouette, I used a Rem 700 Varmint Special in 7-08. I bought 200 pieces of brass and shot that for over 2 years, closer to 3 years, shooting close to 20 matches a year before just throwing it away. I never full length resized any of it, just cleaned and neck sized. It chambered and shot great.

Well you know it all so why are you asking questions? Lol Do whatever you like.

Who said I knew it all? I was asking if dies I had could be used. You said I needed to full length resize and I just relayed that I had not done that in my competition use. Where is that saying "I know it all" ??

Didn’t say you needed to but recommend it as it won’t effect accuracy at all but will help with reliability and brass life with a FL size and small .001” shoulder bump. Why would you want to just neck size? Does nothing for you as far as accuracy and will eventually need a FL size. Getting the brass to the same with each firing is better consistency for the load.

Been shooting long range competitions 23 years myself and loading longer than that and have no issues with FL sizing every time for accuracy. Have used it shooting to a mile and no issue with accuracy.

Also as mentioned buy a proper set of dies and you won’t have to worry about anything.

If your loads are modest, you can neck size for a good while. Over time, I think it's fair to say that we've learned that while loading to upper pressures, full length sizing actually increases usable brass life though. It really comes down to pressure and brass quality more than anything. I quit neck sizing years and years ago...fwiw. Simply because the cons far outweigh the pros...to which I can't think of a single one for neck sizing only, disregarding theories relating to accuracy, either way. Hard bolt lift kills accuracy, so....
