6.5x47L Info Page?

Have not read all posts, but thought I would post to see if this thread is 'dead'. Should be receiving my 6.5x47L in February. Having it built in an Eliseo stock on a Rem M700 SA by Bartlein, using one of their 8.5" twist barrels 28" in length and a Jewell trigger. Plan to break it in using the AMax 123 and 36gr of RE15 and Rem 7 1/2 primer. We shoot a 'winter match" at 300yd and am hoping to have the rifle for the last one in Feb. Once the rifle is shooting the 123s will then move on to the 130 Berger. Should be great fun. When I have the time (also shoot BPCR silhouette) will work up to the 140/142 bullets for 1000yd work. Should be a great rifle for 600/1000yd work.

This looks like an entertaining match:

Does anyone have any experience using VV N540 and the 123 Scenars or 130 Berger VLDs??

I have a couple of pounds of N540 and figured I'd give it a try. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a powder charge?

Thanks.

I found a node with N540, 123 Scenars and CCI 450 primers that my rifle likes...39.7 grains.

I shoot 40.5 grs H4350 130gr VLDhunting CCI450s out of my Rem action Shilen Select Match 27" 1/8 twist at 2750fps .290 tightneck this thing crazy accurate shoots low 2s to low 3s 5shot groups great cartridge. Have shot 123gr sceenar with great accuracy 120gr SMK as well have not tried any 140gr which may be a little heavy I think.
THANKS STACY

I've been running 37.7 Varget/450/130 berger @ 2850. It shoots well out past 1K IF I can read the wind. Recently I picked up some Nosler 123CC and was shooting them this week with 38.5gr Varget, but the necks and shoulders were pretty sooty and the load definitely needs some more fine tuning. I may try RL17 and have thought about experimenting with IMR-4350 with the 123's, as I'm trying to keep whats left in the keg of H4350 for another rifle. :o Thoughts?

There is an introductory page released a couple weeks ago: http://accurateshooter.com/cartridge-guides/65x47/

But it's NOT a full-fledged Cartridge Guide. I have Jason's data, but there is still a LOT of work to be done. I'm hoping to have the full cartridge guide released before the end of the year. But people are also hollering at me to do more Gun of the Week stories.
Do whatever you do whenever you can and it'll be good. Matter of fact it'l be great! Anybody not satisfied with this site has got S4B. And thas a fak jak
