6.5x47L 22-23' hunt rifle? Feed ok? Velocity?

Anyone know what this round will do in a bbl of this length?

I would expect about 100 fps loss vs 26-30" competition guns. Would that be right?

Also, how close would this round be vs. 260 or 6.5x55 in a bbl 22-23" long? Looking to use with all weights, mostly 100-130 but would want to have capability in throat to chamber in heavier bullets and expect to feed through a short action magazine w/o any problem.

Has anyone experience any feeding issues from the magazine? I would expect it to be fine as I have a 7br that is slick, but want to be sure due to shoulder angle, etc.

Looking at Pac-Nor, Lilja, and Broughton barrels, any pros and cons you have had with 3 groove vs others? Thanks.

I have a 24" model on the way from Jim Borden. hoping it will feed from the alpine action as it is my intention of using it for deer.

I too am very interested because I am planning on going with this caliber for my wife. If all else fails, shooting 100 gr NPs at 3100 fps will still be bad news for the local deer heard. I am hoping to have it shooting the 120-130 gr Bergers and 123 SMK, but you never know.

I can say, witnessed yesterday at the range a guy shooting a TUBB 2000, PEEP sighted in 6xc, shot 3 in less than an inch, 200 yds.

I was impressed. Consistency and accuracy were proven, I myself like the help of optics placing my slug on a small target.

Thinking a 6BR or 6.5 cal would yield better bore life, a consideration in my choice.

I'am told 5 more weeks. It's my intention to shoot the Nosler Accubonds but after seeing Bergers Vidseo I want to try some VLD's on whitetail. last season the .257 Ackley shooting 100 grain Nosler BT destroyed both shoulders on the whitetail I hit.

Looking at Stiller, as well as Borden Alpine and BAT repeater action. Open to consider any custom action and trying to research their webpages-etc., repeat feed option is a strong plus and cost/value involved when everything is completely assembled also key. Love to hear about your Borden when you get it.

Songdog, any reason you went with Borden? Just wanting to learn as much as I can about my options if I go custom. Thanks.
