Sorry posted in the wrong spot.I have a reamer being made to shoot the 123's and 130 grain bullets and was wondering who may have one and what powder they are shooting in it.
Thanks
Terry Pohl
Sounds like a plan to me, most any bullets have been really accurate in both of mine..Johara1 why did you give it up? Barrell life not enough bang for the buck?
Preacher I plan on using mine at a 500 meter fly shoot in a light gun, your opinion on this decision if you will please.FYI it will be on a Bat M with a 29'' #17 8.5 twist Kreager.
Thanks

My plan was to drive the 140 at 2800 with H4350 and it wouldn't do it and it didn't shoot as good as the 6.5x47. With the the 130 I could get .1 accuracy around 3000, straight 47not much more gain with the improved. jim
Hell I can't remember back that far, with H4350 and no it wouldn't do it without compression and the heel of the boat tail was well in the sized part of the neck. I was not interested in other powders. plus I was looking for .1 accuracy or less and it won't do it..... jimYou couldn't get 2800 with a 140 in an improved? What action, barrel length and FB was it?

Settled on the 130 AB for hunting purposes only...
If I was looking for tiny groups, I would use the 120's and 123's....

Don't worry bud this wasn't my first rodeo
I know it's not, mine either that's why I asked. I've had good luck with H-4350 and 140's in standard 47L's, all came in @the mid 2700's and again well north of 2800, running .198"FB. in a 28" tube. Was just curious, not questioning your knowledge.
I was looking for tiny groups for a 1000 yds, pretty hard to beat the 6.5x47..... nothing much gained with the improved.... jim
Did you like the plain 6.5x47 for 1000? I have Jim Borden building me one right now on a BRL drop port. Figured the 6.5x47 would give me a bit more oomph than a 6BR variant without having to resort to a heavy hitter like a 284 or 300WSM.
