6.5x47 & 123/139 Lapua loads

Looking for loads with 123 & 139 Lapua bullets with .125 freebore. I have Varget, RL15, RL17,H4350 and N150 but will consider other powders. Barrel is a 1/8" krieger. 28".

I'd greatly appreciate loads that include powder, primer, oal and tested vocities.

Thanks,
Chris

There is something you should be aware of. ALL Lapua Scenars have VERY long bearing surfaces for their weight. You would be doing yourself a great favor if you took that barrel to a riflesmith and have him take a "unithroater" and open that freebore to about .170! That would help greatly.. If you don't open it up you will have the bearing surface BELOW the neck / shoulder junction..

I shot thousands of 123 with a 109 freebore. h4350 never a problem. that was the FB stiller liked when they set my rifle up years ago. wouldnt touch it for 123's. 25k off

You EASILY get 3000 fps with a 140 bullet in the 6.5x47 Lapua?

Yes I can reach 3000 with no hard bolt lift no primer flattening or erratic speed increases with charges over the load I use.
33 inch truflite barrel stiller viper action an moly.
I have 8 reoads on current brass with no loose primer pockets so far.

Cheers Trev.

My best load with the Lapua 123 gr Scenar is 36.5 grains of N140. Groups right at .300 with a velocity of 2725 out of a 26" barrel. My chamber has a .160 freebore. My C.O.L. was 2.658"

Wow.. that's amazing fps. What twist and powder are you using?

Hi All
I have a 6.5x47 Lapua it is the first long range rifle I have ever owned. It is a Kelblys panda action with a klub stock. Last week I loaded up 50 rds. with 130 vld berger bullet, Lapua brass 10th firing anneled by me with a torch once. cci br4 primers 37 gr. varget powder seated to touch the lands I shot five rounds in 3/4 in. at 500 yds. 5kt. cross wind shooting into the morning sun. It is the best I have ever done. My average with that rifle at 500 is 1.5 in. My rifle with Lapua 139 scenars with 40 gr. H4350 do very well too they like a little jump ten thousands give or take. Sometimes with them I get one inch five shot groups.
There is nothing I would rather do than target shoot I wish I was rich.
Bob
