6.5's Show Them and give particulars

This is my .260 Ackly. particulars 30 inch Brux barrel, Mac A5 stock, KMW cheek kit, Bat Tactical short action, and Recoil Eliminator brake. I throw Berger 140 Hybrids at 2950 and utilize Lapua brass with turned necks. In picture it wears a Sig Sauer Tango 6 with 5 x 30 power scope. It has been replaced with a NF ATACR F1 with Tremore-3 reticule.

This is my 6.5mm Remington Magnum hunting rifle. Built on a trued and lapped TC Venture Action, factory trigger set at 1.5 lbs., factory stock coated in heavy duty black truck bed liner paint, and fully bedded with Devcon steel puddy. Barrel is a plain-jane Shilen chrome moly with a 1 in 8" twist finished at 26". Barrel and action are fully powder coated. I am pushing the 140gr Berger Hunting VLDs at 3209 fps with 52gr of RL-17. Scope is a Zeiss HD 5-25x50mm with target turrets.

Here's some pics. I sight in dead on at 300 yards. The target pic is a 3 shot group I fired while sighting the scope in. Gave it one click left after firing the group and called it good. Don't use any sort of rest with this rifle other than a bipod. I shoot with it like I'd hunt with it.

Heres my 6.5 SAUM 35˚ IMP on a Model 7 action, 28" Brux, 2.5x16x42 Bushnell Elite..
Shoots the 140 VLD-H bullets very well with Norma or Rem brass, and F215M primers.
Seems to like H-1000, Retumbo, and RL-33.... With RL-33 having a velocity edge running just under 3200 FPS.........

I have four 6.5s. Two 6.5 Lapuas, and two .260s. Ronnie Long built this hunting rifle for me earlier this year.

Calvin Elite trigger
BAT trigger guard with added front screw
Talley rings and bases
Leupold 4.5-14 Wind Plex CDS scope.

During load development, I shot this group with the factory X mark pro trigger at about 3.5 lbs.(wouldn't adjust lower) I've since swapped it with the Timney Calvin Elite. A world of difference.....

I figure there is a higher node, if I want to pursue it; but this one ought to work on deer just fine.

Heres a couple 6.5 SAUM 4S rifles I shipped out within the last week. They both have Stiller Tac 30 actions, Manners EHF1A dbm chassis stocks, Brux 25" interrupted fluting #5 contour barrels, Jewell triggers, my slabbed mini magnum "Muscle" brake. They weigh 10 lbs without optics. The folding feature cuts 10" off the total length which is great for throwing in a backpack especially with a suppressor on the barrel. Ill have a 6.5x284 to show in a couple days.

This is in f-class position with all of my equipment to practice for a match



I have since moved to a true 1/2 MOA X ring and 1 MOA 10 ring for practice but all of thosae targets are boxed up as we are in the process of moving into our new home

6.5x47 Lapua, I love this gun and am so happy I made it. I was not sure if any of the aftermarket parts would fit. No one makes anything that is listed to work with the Savage Axis but apparently pretty much every thing is interchangeable. ER Shaw barrel. Boyeds stack inleted for a savage 308 Heavy barrel and it fits the ER shaw barrel perfectly. Weaver pic rail and rings. SWFA 3-15x42 scope. Mill turrets. Shoots like a laser. I get 3 shot .25moa groups at 100 yards quite regularly. Also has a savage larger round bolt handle, all savage bolt handles will work with the Axis.
