Why’s the spotting partner listed on there? If i brought a novice could we share a bench and spot for each other on different relays?

Yes, spotting is allowed. Most shooters enter in pairs or we pair them up during the bench draw. The entry form has a line to write in your partner.
We shoot 4 relays, five targets
Relay 1and 2 are heavy gun and 3 and 4 are light gun.
So if you and your partner both shoot 2 classes you would be draw as below:
Relay one HG Dusty Stevens
Relay two HG. Donald Trump
Relay three LG. Dusty Stevens
Relay four LG Donald Trump

Id love for it to be trump- winning!
Ok thats good. I guess you dont frown on coaching since you allow spotting for somebody? I have a friend wanting to make some matches but he wont shoot if hes stuck down in no mans land with me on the other end.

Spotter is just that, spotting hits and watching wind. He is not there to tell the shooter where to hold or when to pull the trigger.
Having this shooter/spotter option seems to be a favorite part of the game.

Spotting hits??? Ha! More like guessing where it may have went based on the trace you think you may have spotted. I may be exaggerating a little for some of the early relays, but not much. Watching the up close flags is an important job for the spotter, IMO.

Rumor has it a big name gunsmith from Arkansas and two big dog f class shooters from Houston are coming.
Should be great fun finally meeting them.

Hi Mike,
Our next match in Oz is at the Wagga range in central southern NSW on the 24th / 25th August...so a little while to wait for our score comparisons!

I'm looking at a weather forecast for Huntsville and notice it'll be nice and warm for you guys at 94 degrees ( so I guess a bit of mirage ) but fairly gentle winds up to about 7 mph. Good scores might be possible!

Hope you have a great day & shoot well.

Regards,
Belly

Working on bench draw and numbering targets at the moment.
Range opens Friday at 10 for practice. Going to be a normal July day I believe.
Hot and humid with swimming pool mirage. We have guys capable of shooting great scoring targets, I feel confident there will be some good targets posted.
Thanks for all the help ya'll have so freely given to us.
Mike
