500M Fly Shoot

Back in the early 80's I shot competitive bench rest here in Alberta. A few shooters came from the Pacific Northwest and brought us a game they created called Fly Shooting.
The targets included, as I recall, 5 flys about the size of a horsefly. A match consisted of one shot per fly. There was a complex scoring system based on where the fly was hit.
I still remember Bill Leeper who was shooting lights out at the time all puffed up for head shooting all 5. Turns out the bonus scoring system promoted the "splitter" that split the fly into 2 parts with the bullet hole. Bill had made a totally uneventful score of 5 since none of we Canuck shooters, being male, had actually read the directions.
