A 5.7x28 necked down to 17 would be a little faster than the 17 WSM. It would be interesting.Anybody loading this cartridge? I come across brass every once in a while.
Necking down to .20 or even .17 might be interesting.
I have not reload either the 5.7 or the Hornet, so I only surmised difficulty reloading the small cartridge. They are not that bad to reload. I dont think 5.7 is worse than the hornet. And the coating isn't really an issue. The 17 and 20 variations are quite the project. Very fun stuff.
The biggest issue is making sure you have powder charges very carefully weighed out. There is little room for error.

I've heard you don't want to clean the cases, they are coated to help with extraction. But boy they are tiny, couldn't be easy to reload.
I think you can make 300BO from fireball brass also both are 223 parent case.I thought the parent case of the blackout is the .223.
Technically speaking, you could say the 222 Rem is the parent case considering they all were offspring of the triple deuce.I thought the parent case of the blackout is the .223.

exactly, but look at this picture, then try and tell me again that the parent case of the 300 blackout is the 223 and not the 221 fb……Technically speaking, you could say the 222 Rem is the parent case considering they all were offspring of the triple deuce.![]()
I can make any fireball, 20VT or 300BO case out of 223 so why not is the 223 a parent case?exactly, but look at this picture, then try and tell me again that the parent case of the 300 blackout is the 223 and not the 221 fb……
The 221 came from the 222The Whisper and BO look exactly the same. Why are there 2?
