Has anybody rented reamers from this website? Im needing a reamer for my 6gt build and can rent from them for 48$. versus paying $250 for a new reamer to keep. Are there any differences between using a rental reamer and a brand new reamer? Im worried that a rental may not give me as good of a chambering job as a new one. And that this company may not have the best reamers where there rentals. But im new to this chambering stuff which is why I ask for your input.

My son HAS and IT ( a Throating Reamer) worked,.. Fine !
They won't send you, a "Bad" Reamer, IMO !
If using, a Reamer once, it's the way, to go !
A Reputable Company But, always Inspect ( for, Dings/ Nicks ) Carefully,.. before, using !

I have. Quick service, nice reamers.

Except the last time I needed an answer to a question (pilot diameter) and simply could not get it after multiple emails. I eventually bought the reamer and a pilot set. Problem solved although at greater monetary cost. Lesser cost in time and frustration though.

I would call your gunsmith and get his opinion. You or your gunsmith could also call the owner of 4d rentals and discuss your concerns. I think Fred has good intentions for reamer quality.

Yes. Several one off jobs not wanting to buy and never been any issues. Last one was a 458 socom about a month ago. At my house it 2 days. Cut excellent and sent back the same day.

Actually, i plan to, as i want to thread & put a muzzle break on the 7mm Rem Mag.

Rented a .30-06 reamer from 4D to finish the chamber in a 1903 Springfield Criterion rebarrel for a sniper build. Tool was in perfect shape, result was a 1 MOA rifle.

I’ve rented a few from him. Good service. I will say this, of the ones that I’ve rented, most have had minimum freebore and required throating to my liking.
