.458 SOCOM feed issues

I just took my new .458 build to the range today. I bought two .458 followers and changed them out on 2 of my USGI 5.56 mags, however, with the bolt locked to the rear, i slapped a mag in there and released the bolt and the round would not feed. Has anyone had this problem? I already oiled the follower on the sides and it mad the movement of the follower a little smoother but still will not feed after the oil wears off? I am thinking I may need to sand down the sides of the follower a little? Any suggestions?

You'll probably get better answers there ^^

That said, who made your upper? Does the barrel extension have M4 ramps? If it does the problem is not in the magazines.

I've never had any issues feeding from plain old GI issue magazines. I've got USGI mags with the old black followers, green followers, and tan followers. They all work fine and I have never felt the need to get an aftermarket follower. When you say it wouldn't feed, does that mean it wouldn't even start to strip the round off the top of the mag (bolt riding over the top of the cartridge) or that it stripped the round off but then the cartridge misfed or jammed?

My RR 458 SOCOM uses standard GI issue magazine with zero problems. My buddy has the very same rifle with zero trouble. Another buddy has a 458 upper from ?? and had trouble with the feeding. He brought it to me to see if I could figure out the problem. I found the bolt was going forward and not grabbing the round from the magazine. I took my die grinder and ground a little slight curve on the back side of the magazine. After a couple slight passes it worked fine.
