I was shooting powder coated cast Blue Bullets. Some of the best on the market. The Hornadys are good bullets but there's just something about the 45 Colt that screams 'cast bullet'.

Sound advice until you walk into the local gun shop and see a neat rifle. All stainless with a 24” octagonal barrel. Think I paid $600 for it. I took it home and started researching. Rossi doesn’t have a stellar reputation but this one is put together well. Nice fit and finish. A slight feeding problem was solved with a longer COL.If it's built to handle modern pressures, a 45 Colt can be loaded up to effectiveness.
Personally, I'd just go with a 44Mag. I've got lots of experience and they are a proven deer killer.
