40x Stock Question...

Looking for input on stock options for a Rem 40x chambered in 22-250. It's all stock as far as I can tell. I'm partial to the GRS Berserk stock as I have one on my Savage in 6.5 and a similar one on my .338 . I didn't want to order one and then find out it won't work though. From the limited research I've done it seems like it's fairly specialized. I had assumed that any short-action remington 700 pattern stock would work, but i'm not sure at this point. Just looking for some feedback. I have milling capabilities so I'm fine modifying something if need be but just want to know what the layout of the 40x is compared to a standard Rem short action and what will fit if anyone can help. Thanks!!

It’s a standard rem 700 short action footprint, here is a rem 700 SA I put into a old 40x stock that I gussied up.

40x is the same, SA Rem except many are single shot solid actions. Any SA 700 pattern should work.

Thanks for confirming! That's a nice looking rig! Just ordered a GRS Berserk stock and will make appropriate mods once it gets here to make everything work. Any comments on the AICS box mag conversions of existing 40x actions? Not a necessity but saw them while searching and thought it was an interesting idea.

Is your 40X action a single shot or repeater. If it is a repeater, it will take anything a standard Rem S/A magazine wise.
