36 power fixed scope

Hi, any one using a fixed power scope like B&L, Redfield or others? I use a Fecker on my black powder target rifle but I'm thinking about a 36 power for my other bench rest rifle. Prose and cons appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

I have a fixed 36 Lupy on a 6ppc that is "Tuckerized" ( ability to lock down the adjustments)
Pro: weight...great fit for the older gun it is on...Glass is just fine for the stated purpose
Con: It's not a 50 March......That sits on the other 6ppc....;)

Regards
Rick

Since I'm now officially Retired, doctors request I'll never afford a March. I have looked through a friends and he warned me do not Drool on my scope. It's nice, but it sure is a bit pricey.

I have two B&L 36 power scopes. On is the 4000 series, the other the 4200. The optics on both scopes are very good. Some time back I managed to figure out that I could use a +2 diopter closeup lens on the eyepieces of both scopes for what I estimate to be a 20% increase in magnification. I do most of my shooting at 100 yards, but I have some experience shooting at 200 too. IMO these scopes do a good job. Certainly there are scopes with more magnification, and for several times the price better optics, but of the older 36X scopes, I think that these have the best optics.

Are you going to compete? That should help you with your selection. I have two Weavers. $325 range.
I would like to compete. But good ranges are hard to find in Ventura county Calif. And a long drive I'll have to wait until I'm doing better. I had my lower Aorta replaced just over a year ago.

The Weaver T series scopes can be found for $325 to $400 on this site and others. Good clear optics and repeatable click adjustments. Most come with a sunshade, screw in lens covers, and are silver or gloss black in color.

Thanks again for all the good advise.
