Looking into fixed power scope for Fclass. What mag?

Morning,

I'm looking into getting a fixed power scope for F class. Waht magnification power is reccomended? I'm thinking 16x or so?

Thanks,
Tres

I would think for a fixed scope for all conditions, that a scope between 16 and 24 power would be great.

Now if March would make a fixed 20x...

Is there a concern with too much power for F-class either open or F T/R. I'm about to have to make that decision as well and It looks like $500.00 - $700.00 is going to be the most I can spend according to Grandma. I don't mind spending less, unless it's going to make me spend more later.I want to be able to try shooting anything from 100- 1000 yds and so I need to make sure I buy only one scope. Great thread .."TresMon"

As long as you can "dial it down" to 20 power or so, I don't see any problem with too much magnification on the top end. I just spent a few hours looking through a March 40x and I can tell you it was brighter, sharper and easier to use than my Leupold 8-25 LRT.

For Reloader 243--you may want to hang on for a few more weeks. Sightron is brining out an 8-32X, 30mm that could be the ticket. But it will retail in the $825.00 range.

I would have to say this it depends on the ammount on average of mirage on your course. Too much magnifiaction and the mirage will have it's way with you. Really would think twice about going with a non variable. JMHO...
