338 Lapua Magnum- first time loading

I had v-good results with us869 but i was shooting 160ttsx barnes hunting bullet's out of a factory savage, 3/4" groups all day every day.
It didn't shoot bad but when it got down to 0 degrees or below 20 it just burned eratic. Also with a 36 inch barrel, I hit a point where it didn't pick up more velocity. Mine is an Improved version but that is around 4 grains more capacity. Matt

I like us869 for ability to fill the case. My load was around the 108-110 grain , with great consistency. The 160ttsx is great for hunting and i tried the R17 load also . around 95 grains and it makes around 3900 fps and 1" groups. Factory savage.

You might also try the Hornady 285 ELD-Ms; they’re a combination of weight and speed. I’m getting 2860 fps with H1000 and very good accuracy from a 26” barrel.

I don't shoot 338 Lapua Magnum, but just wanted to point out to the OP (and/or others here) that I did see brass on MidSouth.
