Peterson Cartridge now shipping their 338 LM bras...at 10% off

I just received this e-mail about this brass - claimed to be Lapua quality.

"Peterson Cartridge is proud to announce the newest addition to our lineup, the .338 Lapua Magnum. Our extensive testing and precision equipment produces extremely consistent, high-quality brass. The .338 Lapua Magnum is available today, joining our .260 Remington and .308 Winchester offerings.

To help celebrate our newest caliber release, we’re offering 10% off all orders using promo code 338USA. Take advantage of this special offer today and improve your accuracy and precision with Peterson Cartridge match-grade brass."

I'm full up on 338 LM brass (Lapua) or I'd spring for a box. Looking forward to see some comparative reviews.

Hope it works out for them and they sell a ton of it. Going to be a challenge since Lapua already makes phenomenal 338 Lapua brass. Although they'll have a chance to prove the Lapua level quality

Noticed my grammatical error but cannot now correct it - seems editing is only possible during the first 48 hours,

The statement, "Looking forward to see some comparative reviews.", should read, "Looking forward to seeing some comparative reviews."

Got a friend who is testing it. He bisected the Peterson and the lapua (I will get pictures up later)
So far Peterson is heavier at the head and weight sorted more consistent than the lapua. It's also 8 grains lighter in total weight. And he had no problems going over 3000 fps with retumbo and pockets were tight.

as far as first firings on virgin brass with mild loads the performance as far as how solid and how little the brass moved was almost identical, But when pushed to the max the Peterson FAR outperformed the Lapua brass. if anyone has any questions let me know.
Gun was chambered with a new reamer with a standard neck and .320 freebore.

Very interesting. I am now gling to look at price difference. I wouldnt mind a tad bit thicker brass like that, itd go with my load well..

Sniper338 - the $112.50 is direct from Peterson. Don't know where you found Lapua branded 338 LM at $225, the best I've seen is $2.49 ea at Brunos, most are $2.89ish. I expect that the Peterson will drop in price when they open up to distribution.

Keep an eye on Shooters Pro Shop in Bend, Oregon. On occasion, they have Nosler loaded rounds of 338 Lapua Match Grade, 300 grainers for $2.75 a round. About the cost of Lapua brass alone and it is overrun, not blems. They just sold out the last batch, but I've seen it available at least twice in the last 6 monhts.
