30BRX

Thought I'd post a pic of the 30BRX case I'm going to be working with in one of my BR rigs this season. There are several guys out there using improved versions of the 30BR, like the 30WW of Wayne Shaw and Wayne France. This is is a 'true' BRX...that is, it has the shoulder blown foward .100 but retains the standard shoulder angle and uses the standard 30BR dies. I made a 'ring die' that sizes the last .100 of the case when needed. The gun is from the Stan Ware shop (SGR Custom Rifles). Stan built a 30BRX last season for Steve Grosvenor and it's performance has been pretty impressive.

Good shootin'. :) -Al

do you have a pic of your rifle? if so, i think we would all like to see it. how, does it shoot compared to the 30BR?

Al, Ive been working with the same case with a "no turn" neck dimension for shooting Berger and Sierra 155's with very good results. The accuracy from a 22" barrel continues to amaze me. Its going onto an AR-15 platform as soon as I get the correct barrel extension/bolt. It has worked out well enough to order a fourth reamer in 6.5 :)

Johnny: A fired 30BR case holds on avg. 40.8 of water. A fired 30BRX case holds an avg. of 42.3 of water.

Much of the work with this was done last year by Steve Grosvenor ('redrock' on here)...I'm pretty much just coastin' along on the ground work he laid. ;D The target at the top of his post here was fired by Steve with his Borden Rimrock actioned rig built by Stan Ware...with the bolt handle on the wrong side. :o Steve was kind enough to spin some of my bullets down range for alittle testing.

There's a little more info on the Daily Bulletin section of this site on the case. We didn't exactly reinvent the wheel..but it's another step in the evolution of the 30BR.

Good shootin'. -Al
