What is the length of the Sierra bullet (TMK) that you are trying?
Just trying different loads. Never know how the rifle will shoot them if you don't try.Not trying to be snarky but why waste time and barrel life with Sierra bullets?

Speaking from experience...you're right, but the only cheap bullet I've ever found to be a bargain is the Speer 125 tnt. Never had good accuracy from the rest. If you test 4 brands at $30/100 and you don't find a good one, you wasted roughly $120(cheap end), plus powder, primers and barrel life, that you could've put toward something that is a proven good choice. FWIW.Just trying different loads. Never know how the rifle will shoot them if you don't try.
Absolutely, and out of the three I tried these 125 gr. Sierras have been the only one to group that well.Speaking from experience...you're right, but the only cheap bullet I've ever found to be a bargain is the Speer 125 tnt. Maybe! Depending on your accuracy requirements. Doesn't matter how many you have if none shoot to your standards though. If you have 4000 might be worth a barrel with a faster twist.
Showing one group is meaningless. Showing the entire set of groups shows a better example of what a rifle is capable of.This is a new load I tried in my 30BR recently that shot very accurately. 125 gr. Sierra TMK POWDER 33.0 GR. VV-N133 PRIMER FED 205M @ .010 OTL
Have tried Nosler 125 BT & AB, Speer 125 HP FB as well but none were quite as accurate.
So.......where are your target pics? How does that gun shoot?Showing one group is meaningless. Showing the entire set of groups shows a better example of what a rifle is capable of.
I have been looking! 14 twist? 15? Do they make a 15? I keep getting sidetracked! If you have 4000 might be worth a barrel with a faster twist.
That was the only group I shot with that load. Tried other loads with different bullets that did not do as well.Showing one group is meaningless. Showing the entire set of groups shows a better example of what a rifle is capable of.
Josh, I don't think I gave the rifle enough chance to see how good it really is. I think I will give it one more try with some varying loads and see it it is for me. However, it really does shoot good. I might have found a node that I can improve on. A guy I shoot with gave me a half box of Berger 115 gr target bullets. With the right bullet and powder, I think it will shoot 1 hole 5 shot groups. Plus, the barrel is really not broken in yet.So.......where are your target pics? How does that gun shoot?
OK! Have fun! I’m leaving in a month. Let me know!Josh, I don't think I gave the rifle enough chance to see how good it really is. I've tried some Speer 125 gr 30 cal TNTs before with H4198 and N130 from my 30BR bench rifle at 100 yards and have never been able to make them shoot at a competitive level. They are fine for fun or factory shoots, but I would never use them in a sanctioned match. I have used them in military rifles with decent results though.Speaking from experience...you're right, but the only cheap bullet I've ever found to be a bargain is the Speer 125 tnt. I tried these as well with 30.0 Gr. AA-LT-30 and CCI BR-4. My 5 shot group was .338 Probably won't bother with them again.I've tried some Speer 125 gr 30 cal TNTs before with H4198 and N130 from my 30BR bench rifle at 100 yards and have never been able to make them shoot at a competitive level. I don't compete with them but I've had them to shoot small. Just never trusted them.I've tried some Speer 125 gr 30 cal TNTs before with H4198 and N130 from my 30BR bench rifle at 100 yards and have never been able to make them shoot at a competitive level.
