Correct LarryBut they never had the quality brass that we have today via Lapua. The modern 30BR was developed by Randy Robinett & Ronnie Long based on the Lapua brass.

Yes Smokin Joe. Mr Goody won SSOY in 2000, 01 & 02 using his 30 Jaguar. Believe it or not he was using a Shilen 14 twist barrel. He started out using N135, then went to N133. He started out using Bibs 127's, and used everything down to 112's. Mr Smith, don't call Apple legendary, his head is already too swelled as it is! LMAO!My championship rifles were Krieger 18 twist double cryo'd & I shot the 118 gr 10 ogive bullets, 1st with N-130 & later with H4198. Jim had his Jaguar working extremely well back then; didn't he win SSOY about 3 times with it?

YUP! LMAO!Ahhh, but still your hero.
Another "firecracker" was the 30 BR shooter who managed FOUR (4) 250/25x aggs @100 in a 5 week period in the 2007 season.....if that's not enough to impress you.......2 were States (Ohio and PA) and one was the Nationals.
The shooter- Ken Livengood (who also was awarded a Bronze Precision Rifleman jacket in the year PRIOR.)
That streak will be awfully tough to duplicate.
I believe he was the declared winner @100 yds with a 250/25x but weeks later after review by the Records Committee it was officially scored a 24x.Just to keep the record straight, I checked when I went home for lunch: Ken Livengood, whom I consider a friend, only shot 3 250-25X's in July & August of 2007. We went to Canastota thinking he would be the favorite win the Nationals, but it didn't work out as I remember. Still, shootin' 3 of those right together like that was truly exceptional.
According to the record book, he shot one 250-25x in July, one in August and one in September of 2007.I believe he was the declared winner @100 yds with a 250/25x but weeks later after review by the Records Committee it was officially scored a 24x.
