30br action choice?

Starting a build list for a 30br for local 100yd for score benchrest and am looking for action recommendations.

What would you suggest? Looking for right bolt right port.

I think that the speed which you can shoot helps at times especially at 200 & 300 yds in the shortrange Benchrest game. I like a left port, right bolt & right eject.

Had mine built on a stainless steel, single shot, Rem 700 action sold by Buds.

I had a 6 PPC built by the 3 best combination of builder in the country,It had a Borden action ,shot lights out in the 0's and was the smoothest and fastest bolt action I have ever used. I also have 4 Panda's and 1 Bat. JMO.

Doesn't matter between a Panda, Rimrock, or a Bat. They are all good actions and you won't go wrong with anyone of the 3.

I would recommend a dual port Bat B action. The 3 " loading port is very nice and sure beats a shorter action like an s or sv. Just my two cents. I have 3 dual port melonite B's and really like them.

Depends on which score gun you are trying to build...their is a Hunter or Varmint gun...Hunter has to have a load port on the bottom, limited to smaller foreend, 6x scope and weight under 10.5lbs...Varmint is more like what most are talking here, 3" foreend, 13.5lbs, etc.

The Bat B is good but for weight the S or SV might be a better choice....also being shorter = more rigid. That's a discussion that will never be solved

The Edge could work because you can add weight but most seem to use a wood stock or Scoville (sp?) type stock.

I've just started looking into this myself as it seems to be growing some legs a bit around here...it'd be another opportunity for me to make a gun go bang
