308 Forster die issue Need HELP

I just purchased a new forster 308 win full length die. I followed the directions for set up the same way my 8 other Forster dies are set up.I lubed up and the first case got stuck. I removed it and cleaned everything up and went through the set up again. I again lubed up and the second case stuck followed by the third. I am full length sizing Remington once fired brass.I then took out my old Rcbs 308 win die and the brass sized flawlessly. When i removed the stuck cases i noticed a donut at the bottom of the neck. I feel that the neck diameter is too tight not allowing the expander ball to pull out.Any input would be GREATLY appriecated.

Remove the decapper/expander assy and size another case and see if the case comes out. If it does, the expander ball on the assembly may be too high up causing the process to lock up. You may have to adjust the location of the expander ball down to give it the correct clearance.
If the case comes out ok, measure the neck to see how tight it is. Also measure the expander ball to make sure it measures .308.

The expander ball is all the way down
. I checked my other Forester dies and they are all the same.

Will the die without the expander assy successfully size the case and let you extract it?

I'll bet you've got the decapping rod too high/too low in the die. Call them and explain the problem. They'll be more than happy to help. You can't ask for a nicer more helpful company .

I have another thought about this. Check the neck diameter of your chamber. Take a look at how much you are trying to size down in one step. Also another method I have found to work with forster dies for setting the expander ball is to take a paperclip and insert it into the vent hole. Now screw the expander ball down until you feel it make contact with the bottom of the expander ball and lock it in place.

The die is on the way back to Forster with the third case still in it. The tech said it could be the wrong size expander ball installed. Will update when i hear from him>
Thank U Guys

The above just happened to me for the first time about two weeks ago! I ruined about $6 worth of 6br brass, but all is corrected now!

1hole I love my forster dies just as much as the next reloading geek. With that said may I suggest the Redding type S bushing dies. I have been using them in place of my forster and getting some really good results. May work for you and it may not but I shaved 1/4 to 1/2 MOA off my groups. At 100 that isn't much for a long range hunting rig. At 600-1000 it really starts to add up. It also lets me be flexable for neck tension since I don't neck turn at all.
