308 Chamber dimensions

I'm pretty new at this 're-barrel stuff.... am looking at doing a 308 Win to shoot 155 Ber VLD bullets on a Rem 700 SA. Have some questions.

I would like to keep things fairly tight in the new chamber and am wondering what 'tolerances' would be reasonable. I plan to use a Redding Full Length Die with a bushing to resize. For those who use this die...
1) what are your case measurements after resizing
2) what neck bushing do you recommend?

Call Dave Kiff at PT&G and get the prints. If you are going to shoot 155s the 95 Palma chamber or the 150 Bisley chamber are your best bets.

Both are cut with the 155 grain bullets in mind.

Both have a .3085 throat where a factory Remington comes with a .310 or .311 throat diameter and enought free bore for you to park a mini van.

There is a world of difference in a custom chamber and a factory chamber in a .308 Winchester. Custom chambers fall in the tighter end of the SAAMI /CIP spec. The Remington factory chambers I have encountered in recent years are at the loose end of SAAMI/CIP if not beyond it.
