300wsm or the 7saum for 8-9-1000yard F-class

Is the 7saum more accurate than the 300wsm for 15 round strings in f-class 8-9-1000??? I think I'm losing a little faith in the saum,yes I have one, and as we speak its really not as accurate as any of my 280AIs. I want more wind bucking at a grand that is why I'm somewhat leaning away from the saum and thinking 300 wsm????

Go for it! The 300 WSM is one of the biggest winners in 1000 yard Benchrest and the Dasher is right there with it , especially if you don't like recoil.

No matter where it is from,you might have a bad barrel.The 7 saum is a heck of a cartridge!

If your 280AI holds good vertical shoot it. If you are at the F-Class Nationals and want every advantage currently available to win the match, 300WSM.

I've got TWO 6.5X47L chambered barrels that are Turds, it ain't the cartridge. FYI, I have TWO 7mm RSAUM's that ain't. :

The thoughts with the 300wms is for the days when it gets real ugly.Would the 300wsm barrel life be a little better than the 7saum. Not that it matters from a cost point,just want to know if I would be chasing the lands after every weekend match?

32" or less just me.Some guys are going longer in all classes.Might be a weight issue,simple rule KISS!Cheers!

Yes the 6.5x47 is a great cartrige!! I got one of those too,lol. Don't get me wrong guys I want the 7saum to shoot well .For me that means 1/4minute @ 500 or better at 3000fps from the saum. Maybe I'm asking to much

Ever give any thought to 7 SAUM AI????

You could take one of your clunker barrels and dedicate it to fire forming status........

It might give that little bit extra required for the velocity needed...........

The 7saum I got now has no problem getting speed up to 3150fps with ease on a 31" barrel. I have tried every load combo I think posted here, just won't shoot worth shit!!! fast, slow or other wise.Maybe I just got a poor barrel.I don.t know

MrMajestic, I do compete here in canada,and yes I would love to go to the Berger Nationals.I have been asked to shoot for team Canada but I can not commit the time a team requires of me at this time,But don't worry I will get there soon enough.And I do believe I would be in the master or just into the highmaster class.So practice up I'm comming lol.

And yes Phil,the poorest barrel is the most expensive barrel, I will spin this one off and use as a garden stake and start new again. hopefully I will get better results.
