300WSM....30 Nosler .....Primer?

I use standard LRP's in my WSM and was thinking of building a 30 Nosler on a custom long action (mag. BF) I have here, just for something different. Would doing load work up for a 30 Nosler with standard LRP's put the round at any sort of disadvantage? I am hoping to use my existing primer inventory instead of popping for 1K magnums. The gun will be in a chassis, shot off a bipod through a 29" heavy Palma barrel shooting 200-210g vld's.....Thanks for your input.

Regards
Rick

Yep, what Sherm posted. Am using and have used CCI 250s with RL33 in the 26 and 28 Noslers and now a 30-28 Nosler with H1000.

Article states different cup hardness on different primers. With the 30 N being a 65k psi cartridge and having a tall powder column, magnum primers may perform better, but I hear you on buying a brick at today's prices.

Thanks, Guys for the input.... It's fun researching chamberings I have not messed with. After spending a few hours over a few days mulling over whether I want to get invested in another adventure, I have decided to do another 300WSM. I have one in a nice 2 port BR rig and am already heavily invested in the chambering. For my intended purpose, the WSM is more than capable......Turning 65 at the end of the week. I have to constantly tell myself to KISStupid and relax a bit ........LOL

Rick
