300 PRC Berger 220 LRHT w H1000

Every single comment with a velocity number should include barrel length.

If you are only going to 1000yards, the difference between 2820 and 2900 is miniscule. At 1800yds, its a big difference.

My advice, and it's just my advice is to not chase speed with calibers such as this. I run the 220s in a 300wsm and it shoots nicely around 2820fps. If you've got a nice group at 2850fps, I'd be sticking with it.
Thats what I'm after. What barrel length and powder in the 300wsm?

Yall are making me jealous. My 26" 300nm is only going 2900fps with a 225eld...using 86gr n570.

32 long, 9 twist, ADI2213sc (H4831sc) 64.6gr - 2830fps in warmer weather in Australia. In winter this speed drops to 2800fps.

That really makes me like my 24" 300 Norma w/245 EOL going 2830fps using 82grs of N570 much better.

After 250 rounds the barrel I meticulously prepared the 2x fired brass for consistent neck tension.

Ran a ocw from 77.2 to 80.8 in 0.3 increments.

What I see is that the obt node in QL is 1.430ms which was giving me consistent POI from 77.8 to 78.1 in 3 different range days around 2850fps

After I ran this test yesterday I see some differences in Poi and I don’t know what the heck happened to 77.8. It might be me?!

At 80.2 bolt was heavy but nothing that scares me.

I ran a seating depth test at 79.3 and didn’t like it at all.
What do you guys think about running in the middle of 79.4-78.7?
POI is similar
Velocity is flattened with ES of 8

Generally when running powder weights above 60-65g most run a magnum primer.
I have a couple buddies that run 210m primers and get excellent results with H1000 and 230 A Tips.
Mag primers are not always necessary. They have also used them with VV N570 with good results. They do shoot out west where it is cold.

What kind of group size you are getting?
I test at 600 yards with 10 shot groups to simulate half of a local 600 yard match.
RL 26 gives me 1.5" Vertical and about 3" horizontal group but that could be influenced by wind. That was the best group. It shoots regularly 3" V and 4" H groups. To really push the barrel, I shoot 10 shots in less than five minutes to see how the gun behaves when it gets really hot.

The next best is 565 but it opens up to about 2"V and 4" Horizontal. That's on average. 568 is close to 565 give or take an inch. Depending on the wind. I use 568 now because I have a lot of it and only a little bit of RL 26 or 565.

My 6.5CM shoots dots at 100 and holds 1.6 of vertical at 600 and had really good luck with 144 LRHT bullets.
It’s my first time trying to tune a 30 magnum rifle. Rig is the same. The gun is heavy and balanced but really disappointed that can’t tune it to shoot nicer groups.
I will post my seating depth test that I did yesterday.
I feel like something is not right in this combo.

Seating depth test at 100 yards.
I see some promise at -009 and -0012
I might have to revisit higher nodes to see how it shoots.
Let me know what you think
Thanks.

If I were you, I would retest one more time at -10, -13, and -16 At 100 yds. Then I would redo the same at 600 yds and confirm that it holds vertical. What powder?

I am using H1000
I supplied almost 80lbs last 2 years.
It’s easy to clean and eat only 2thou of the throat every 100 rds
