How to determine Hodgdon Powder Lot #
Now, I am sure this information is old hat to a lot of people on this site, but I did not know, so I called Hodgdon Powder Co. and they explained it to me. If you take the 1 lb container that I have and look at the side of the bottle where the Label ends meet, there will be 2 rows of numbers in...forum.accurateshooter.com
the first number indicates it's an 8 pounder. The next six numbers indicates the packaging date. It was packaged 06-12-2019 The last 4 is the lot # which is 7087. So the new one was packaged January 13th of 2015 lot #5367.@JimPag You sir are almost correct! 80612197087 is the lot I've been shooting, the new unopened jug is 80113155367, so this last one was made in 2011? You can see where I was getting the 19 from? LOL
I have enough of the 7087 for 3-4 matches and then it will be back to the range to test.the first number indicates it's an 8 pounder. The next six numbers indicates the packaging date. It was packaged 06-12-2019 The last 4 is the lot # which is 7087. So the new one was packaged January 13th of 2015 lot #5367.
