30 br brass

Ordered some 30br brass from ssk industries. Wasn't sure what I was getting when I ordered, but was pleasantly surprised to get Peterson 6br brass formed to 30br. It has the thicker section on the neck indicating it was sized up from 6mm. Guessing it was hydroformed since the ID of the neck was not scratched or scuffed.

Turned a few necks and plan to shoot them soon.

The 16.5 inch barrel will keep it out of competition for me. I might have beaten you once in the last 15 years. Let's shoot smallbore one of these days.

Interesting. Have the necks been turned? What is the OAL and neck thickness?

Necks were not turned. And the overall length is scattered. From 1.5 to 1.53 inches.

Turned some to 330 with a seated bullet and had full clean up. No ball or tube mic. Does that help.

Man, don't know how you do it without one, as you know a .330 loaded round won't go in a .330 chamber, I like mine at .3275 or so. Good luck.

Custom specified my reamer to have more neck clearance.

The OP did not specify a neck diameter, which he should have, but neither should we assume what it is. That is how people get hurt. Good lesson for all.

This helps. Have you compared them to Lapua. How much powder do the hold?

My lapua weighs 125 gn and the peterson weighs 135 gn. I have a few rem 7mm br that was necked up and it weighs 129 gn.

I don't ever measure case volume, but expect the case weight gives you am idea on the case volume.
