30-06 brass to 25-06

How does forming 25-06 from 30-06 double the brass life?

By itself? Probably not.

But if the choice of 30-06 brass is made for quality rather than simply price, there may be benefits for the added expense.

Never shot much 30-06 but with 308WIN I get three to four times the number of loadings with Lapua Palma brass than I could ever manage using Winchester, Norma, Remington....

I have yet seriously to evaluate cases from Peterson Cartridge or Alpha Munitions but from what I’ve heard said they’re both worth the money.

I routinely neck 30-06 to 25-06 in one step. You may need to trim to length and measure neck thickness closely as they tend to run a bit thick. If you have any .270 brass on hand it tends to work better.
