284 win, and h4831 sc

I am only getting 2680 with 53 gr. Of h4831sc. Very accurate out to 600, but the wind catches it out to 1000. I also am experiencing. 002 throat erosion per 20 shots. I know most people aren't experiencing these issues, but I am. I am planning to change to R17 this year for an increase in velocity. I hope accuracy will be maintained.

So, I'm kind of newb here but how many of these posts specify COAL? From what I've read the 284 suffers from moderate to severe powder compression issues with the longer/heavier bullets. Velocities and accuracy will change significantly with a stock COAL of +/- 2.80 vs. say a 3.2 that allows the 180 Berger VLD's to stay out of the powder chamber.

284win I use H4350 around 2800fps with 54 grains, 162 Amax 25" brux. I can get a little more speed out of it but the group starts opening up.
