My STW has a 26" fluted Bartlein 3B, HS Precision stock, and Zeiss scope and weighs in pretty close to 12 lbs. A #4 adds 1/2 lb and a #3 is 1/2 less. If you are going to use it in the field, I would consider 26" as a max barrel length. Longer barrels will hit everything you walk by..........im looking at either a 26-28" 1-9 twist. What do you guys think on contour.
Im thinking like a Krieger Sporter #5 or 6 heavy bull sporter. Wouldn't want to go any heavier than a Match/target #7 light contour at 5.5 lbs
I'd like to go middle of the road, target/hunting. And I would like it to fit the muzzle brake pretty nice and not look out of proportion. I don't like the look of the screw on Gen 2's. It looks more tactical in appearance.
I want to go a APA break. Like a Gen 1 micro, or gen 1 little B%$##.
With the 180 Hybrids, my nodes were at 51.6 w/H4350 at 2825, 54.8 w/H4831Sc at 2805, and in my last barrel the RL17 shot best w/51.1 at 2815. I had taken the RL17 up to 52.7 for a velocity of 2937 but I had pressure signs and it didn't group as well as the 2815 fps load.Understood. What was your velocity with each powder on average that you had shooting good.
I want to stick with the the 180's
