Hey guys, I can't seem to find a 280 AI modified case to use with my Hornday OAL gauge. Can I just use a 280 Remington modified case? Thanks
I'd make my own, once you have the drill bit & the 5/16 x 36 tap its quite easy. - On my 280 AI I used 1 piece of new Nosler brass to start out with which got me in the "ball park" then after you've fire-formed some brass just make another that fits your chamber perfectly. - I "hold" the brass with a hand held case holder used for neck turning (Sinclair) which the "V- blocks" hold well enough to prevent slip of the case when you drill through with the drill bit. - Easy to do, costs less, and no waiting on others to provide it. - The drill bit & tap will last for many future uses.Hey guys, I can't seem to find a 280 AI modified case to use with my Hornday OAL gauge. And I can't see why you could use a 280 Remington case provided the brass is a close enough match to your chamber until you got some fire-formed.I'd make my own, once you have the drill bit & the 5/16 x 36 tap its quite easy. - The drill bit & tap will last for many future uses.
