.28 Nosler vs. 30 Nosler

I've got an unfired Remington Sendero (original version) in 300RUM. Looks like I might be able to rechamber to 28 or 30 Nosler and have a long, useful mag feed from the standard mag box.
I think you mean re-barrel it to 28 or 30 Nosler.

The follow on is, yes you can. Nothing else is different and it works beautifully.

You will need a wyatts extended box if throated out for long bullets
If he starts with a 300 RUM box, not really unless he has a long throat. I made all my loads .020 off and never ran into a mag length issue for 270/xx-Nosler, 28-Nosler, 30/xx-Nosler and 338/xx-Nosler. The 30 would be a little shorter leaving .050 for seating the bullet out. The 28 would be "normal".

BTW: shot my 338/xx-Nosler last week. Still shoots fine after 2 years sitting in the rack.

Has anyone tried the 180 ELD? I wonder if it might be a better alternative on game than the 195 Berger in this application.

With all the fussing going on in the IBS-rules-bench/relay rotation thread it makes me consider scrapping the whole benchrest idea and finding my way out to Wyoming for some elk hunting. Might have to break in the 300 RUM after all.

Yikes! That's loooooong for a xx-Nosler.

Not really, my SAMMI 28nosler reamer is something like .181" freebore and that puts a 180hybrid right at 3.63-3.64" I cant remember off the top of my head but it works in Factory Mag boxes with no mods. So if Alex is running a longer freebore say around .315" that makes perfect sense he would be at 3.765" COAL and need a wyatts box.

OK. My reamer is SAMMI that explains the difference between @Alex Wheeler and my lengths. I have an unused Wyatts long box. The Weatherbys can get the 378/460 box if needed. A little tweek and it will work.
