.270 win. H2O weight

Can anyone supply me with accurate water weight capacities of USA made 270 Win. brass? QL says 67 gr. but doesn't list the mfg. I just bought a bag of Prvi brass, and am curious how it stacks up against others in volume .
Thanks,

Lloyd

I use a medical pipette for filling the case. I just don’t have any Winchester , Federal or Remington brass to compare against.

thinking about this method. I suppose the most accurate way to measure would be weigh the empty case, add the water, then weigh again. Take the difference then do the math on case volume. Is this how it is done.?

New brass capacity is way different than fire formed capacity (what matters).
And FF'd capacity is set by different chambers.
If you try to choose by case weight, then that would depend on how much brass is removed with case preps
So somebody elses' capacity is not what yours will be.

I have never seen a specification for internal volume for a cartridge. I suspect that is left to manufacture. Each manufacture local, or
national, and other governing bodies telling them already what their product has meet safety standards, liability, a bunch of "experts" would drive them over the edge I am sure.

I'm not trying to re-invent the wheel here, rather to see what different mfg. brass are thinner or thicker.
Post #4 describes how to come up with the H2O weight. Yes, I'm aware that new brass will not hold the same amount of water as fired brass, but it's close enough to answer my question.
I know that this is an accuracy themed forum, but the original question I posed is for a hunting rifle.
If you have a couple pieces of 270 Win. brass laying around, I would appreciate you weighing them for me.
Thanks,

Lloyd

I like to pick up range brass, clean it, size & prime it, then compare it.

I can tell you that Hornady 270 brass has the most case capacity by FAR.

I loaded 60 grains of H4831 in a FC, and Horn case and noted a difference of 150fps difference over my Lab Radar

60 grains of H4831 in a Hornady case is not even compressed yet. In the FC and Starline cases it is heavily compressed.

Winchester brass sits in the middle.

I have not got my hands on Remington brass in that caliber.

Nosler online load data lists water weight for the brass used in testing:

With what bullet?

I was using Hornady 130gr SST's in the early days.

I have since switched to Sierra 140gr game changers

.005 off the lands, WW brass, 57.2 grains of H4831 lit with CCI# 200's

24 inch barrel with velocity at 2975 fps.

Took a Deer yesterday with that load. Excellent performance at 180 yards
