You’re getting great speed and accuracy out of your VVN540 loads. I wonder if N140 would work as well, and give you longer bbl life? Albeit not with the speed you’re getting.

Yea, it's doing well with speeds and accuracy is great but honestly I feel the reamer has a lot to do with that too. I have 140 but I don't think it will do quite as well as the 540 although as you mentioned barrel life will probably be less.

Who made the reamer for you, did you spec it out yourself, or did they already have it?

You’re correct, your rifle really does like N540! And with either bullet too.

I may have to go get some and test it out…. I have another barrel in .257 but it’s a Bartlein, same twist just with a different profile, M24/40 vs HV#17 on the Brux. That was because I’m using a Deviant Elite Cone nosed CF that uses a longer tenon of about 1.85” in length. And the Brux has a 5” straight 1.25” before it begins to taper down to the OAL of 27”. It was the heaviest I’ve used and frankly for an open heavy NRL rifle is wasn’t the best choice but I still make the weight class limit at 16 pounds.

Who made the reamer for you, did you spec it out yourself, or did they already have it?

My builder spec'd the reamer and has not released the info OLD DOMINION CUSTOM RIFLES WSMNUT here on the site.

Just wanted to add to this thread since I pulled data from it to use for my 25x47L.

Thanks Matt_3479 for doing the leg work and posting your findings. Since I used your data I’m not bringing anything new to the table so to speak. Moreso confirmation that your beginning load work up with Re 16 and 134 Eldm’s shoot great.

I started at 37.5 like you and went up to 38.9 which you also posted results. Here’s mine for
37.5, 38, 38.5 and 38.9. I have a shorter barrel so will see if I can bump it up a little to get mid 2700’s.
