250 gr. Hornady Muzzeloader Bullets

Those FPB bullets from Hornady shoot great in my TC omega with 100g (volume) of Blackhorn 209. I haven't killed anything with them. I only have 20 left in my stash so i have to use them sparingly.

Easiest loading bullet I ever used, fouled or not, especially with Blackhorn powder.

I found the test packs. PM me your shipping info and I will send you a pack. These have some taper also, but not nearly as much as those Hornady bullets that you measured. The tipped bullets that I shoot have slightly less taper than the test pack bullets. I am attaching a photo of the test bullets. The one on the left is the smallest bullet in the test pack. The bullet on the right is the .501" size. As you can see in the picture it has rifleing marks down the length of it. Both rifles that I checked the size on were CVA MX's and required the .501" bullets.

Will do.

Those two old ones would also work. All I would have to do is use a marker and cover the sides. That wy I could see new marks, if any, of the lands.

Guessing the .501 is correct but you never know. Did a bit more measuring of other bullets I have. Most all are .499" or less. Good reason I have bits and pieces of many others that failed.

Bought that Omega in the 1990's. Have used it each year since but no clue how many deer I have taken with it. Once, distracted at a gun range, I shot it with a ramrod in the barrel. ( STUPID). The recoil broke my nose and knocked me off the bench to the floor. It was a public range and others told me they saw the ramrod head downrange.

Never found it. Range officers forced me off, to an office where a nurse that happened to be there actually re-set my nose and slowed the blood flow. I bought a new breech plug from Thompson Center after that and replaced it. Never saw any damage and that happened maybe 20 years ago.

Send me an address by PM and I will ship my stash of FPB bullets to you. Think there are over 30 of them.
