25-06 PPU brass issues?

Hi,
Has any one had any issues with PPU brass for the 25-06? I loaded 100 grain Sierras and Re 22 at 53.6 grains and Remington primers. This is the same load I have used for years with no issues. The only change is the brand of brass. Every fired case has gas leakage around the primer pocket and one has a blown primer, completely out of the case. The case heads look like excessive pressure flattened with bolt marks. I pulled several bullets weighed then, and powder, all are in spec. I verified the powder I used was re 22. Temperature outside was 95, but that is common here and we never had issues before. Any ideas where to look next? I will pull all the bullets and powder and try same load in another case and see what happens.
Thanks,
oldhoward

If you change any component, you must rework the load over again.
In this case you changed the brand of brass your using. Different brands of brass have different internal capacities. A load that works in "A" brand brass, may be showing signs of over pressure in "B" brand of brass.

In my experience with 7mm-08 PPU brass I have to reduce my charge weight by 2.0 grs. compared to domestic brass. The cases have somewhat less capacity when filling with H2O and weighing them.

FWIW...PPU Brass in 7mm Magnum was way more heavy than Win or Rem brass. Had to reduce loads significantly to adjust loads for it. However, the PPU brass was better quality than any other brass I had been using...including Norma.

When using 308 PPU brass, I need to reduce my typical load by 1.7 grains. It's heavy stuff.

Even in 9 mm PPU brass is thick , when I resize pretty much any other I don't touch the adjustment on my sizing die , but I have tryed it with PPU and it resizes so small it won't fit on the trimmer shaft , never had that problem with Win , Rem , Fed etc so it's definitely thicker.... I have a Ziploc bag half full when I find it in range pick ups I just toss it in the bag or leave it on the ground...

Just for us uneducated out here may I assume you are talking about prvi partizan brass? I have a bag of 25-06 that I was planning on using this fall in an old mod 70 that I had a new barrel put on and haven't gotten around to working up a load yet.

Bobm and Ebb, thanks for the heads up, I know my gunsmith chambered on minimums so that will be a real good idea, thanks again....
John
