Yes, I’m trying to get closer to 3,500 MV or higher if possible to have as little drop in elevation from just under 175 yards to as much beyond 300 yards as possible…. I want this as I have my secondary thermal scope that doesn’t have a LRF or automatically adjust the reticle in the thermal. Most of my shots are between just under 200 yards to maybe 350+/- yards at night. I want as flat shooting of a round as possible for my boys or whoever is with me for this backup setup. I’m not worried about being a little overbore as this barrel will be dedicated to night hunting and won’t be used for pdogging, ground squirrels etc… but I want as big of a spread of yardage to be able to hold center mass… does that make sense? Are you concerned about Ballistic Tip integrity at high velocity? My 250 AI load only runs ~3200 from a 25-in barrel.

I’m intrigued by the 25-08 AI. I’ve never seen this cartridge. I do love the 257 but wouldn’t mind going going up to 6.5 as this rig will be used as a backup rig or as primary in windy conditions as I’m currently shooting the following cartridges in night setups:.257 BOB AI
25-08 AI
Or a 7-08 AI
