25-06 Brass

Is the 25-06 brass prone to stretching any more than another cartridge case of similar design?
I am considering rebarreling a shot out 30/06 to a 25/06 suggestions or issues one should consider.
Thanks
H

I've not seen an issue with 25-06 brass stretching any more than the other calibers based on the 30-06 case. If I were to own another 25-06 I would neck down the 30-06 Lapua brass as I did in the past. It does require turning the necks to avoid chambering issues in most chambers.

I checked Starline’s site and 25-06 is one they don’t make.

Do it and get rid of that clunky .30 cal. Bullet.
The 25-06 is so much fun to shoot..one of my favorites.
The 30-06 is a work horse, and the 25-06 it more of a thoroughbred, it just seems to do most things a little better. Not everything, but most.
I would almost consider a .25-06 AI . But then again nothing wrong with a classic 25-06. I do believe the shoulder angle, and neck of the 25-06 just seems out dated, by 2025 standards..
But hey im a guys who just came inside from shooting a 30-30..haha..
I shot out two 25-06 barrels in shoot-n days
The only thing i remember is hodgdon sold the same model powders at one time standard and a short cut my rifle love the short cut powder.
Remington primers, and any of the sierra bullets
If it helps ya sleep at night.
I blew out primer pocket way before my brass failed at the neck shoulder
You can always pick up some heavy military 30-06 brass and form 25-06 and turn necks a little to clean up the brass.
You will get 10 reloadings with that brass if you keep it annealed. And can push it hard

Any time you decrease neck diameter on a given case, I would tink that case stretching would increase. To what extent-----???? !

That is why you don't get much stretching in straight walled cases!

If you can get the AI dies without spending a fortune, that is the way I'd go. I do remember trimming 25-06 cases but 30-06 requires it also. Accurate 3100 was pixie dust for 25-06, still available from Lovex without the Accurate label. Mine used to like 115NOS BTs.

I’ve never noticed 25-06 brass stretching more than others.. when I rechamber mine I will go with 1-8 twist to stabilize heavier 133 - 135 weight Bergers…

Nosler makes good 25-06 brass. I have two rifles pushing 115s over 3100 with it and no problems with it. Hornady makes brass as well but it is garbage in comparison.
