always wishing for the magic load

I have had excellent .243 1000 yard F Class results with 107 SMKs and 105 AMaxs using RX22, H1000, Retumbo, RX25 and 7828 in a Savage 12FV. The various loads chronod between 2950 and 3050. I settled on a compressed load of RX25 giving 3050 fps which consistently shot 1/2 moa at 300 metres,330 yds) off a bench. Used RCBS competition dies, Win brass, Win primers.

Thanks Stare, Im using win brass,WLR primers, regular RCBS dies, hadn't ordered my reddings yet) almost a full case of RL25,82clicks on my culver)107smk into the lands but it still goes aways down in the case, getting about 1 MOA at 150yds...gotta leave home to get further. maybe its me

My experience was with the 243AI loaded with H1000 and HV100,thanks to Joe Hendricks). 30' Lilja 1-8'. Both were excellent and didn't burn my barrel out. I got my best LR performance with the DTAC 115...which you can push much faster than 3000 but I never got better accuracy than the loads around 3K.

The sierra 115’s are shooting smaller groups when seated into the lands, will do more testing with two loads using H1000,47.5 and 48.5 grain) seating the 115’s in the lands at 600 yards.

The new lot of H1000 is VERY slow had to add 7 minutes of elevation for 1000 yards.
Changed to 46 grains of H4831 elevation is back to normal 06-17-2008

Round count = 1308
