Powder/bullet recommendations -- 6mm BR w/ 1-13.5 twist

I have a new rifle in 6mm BR with a Krieger 1-13.5 barrel. I would like to get velocities (with a 62-65 gr bullet) up over 3500 fps and produce 1-hole groups too. When I load Varget, I don't think the case capacity will allow enough powder to get the velocity I want--36.0 grains fills it up to the top.

Can anyone furnish a powder/bullet combination they have personally used that might achieve what I am trying to do.

Give the listed load combinations on this sites 6BR info page a try. I find them to be an excellent source of load combinations, several have become my standard, favorite loads. Better then stumbling around in the dark, and maybe safer too.

I have shot lots of 133 with the little bullets....and a blend of 322 and 4895 works good ...the vita vori powders are difficult to find and $$$$$$.....cant give Culver st pts.....your gona hav to find how much your combo can stand before it blanks primers...then bak down 1/2 gr.....Roger
PS...most 62-68 gr bullets with quik powders like to be jammed....but you can usually find sucess jumpin em aprox. 1/2 of the FB--the Watson-Fowler-Bart-Berger all work good....and with your 13.5 twist the new wave of BT's that are in vogue now will work fine if your FB is less than .050"(usually)...dont try to shoot em with less than .050 shank...I could get 3550 with a 28.5" bbl. and Rx-15 but it was not as accurate as with the faster powders....and the MV was usually 3450 then....

Maybe not exactly the info you are looking for, but I have been fiddling around with 8208XBR and 68grn Bergers in my 8 twist 6BR. Some of the charges I tried were 3400fps+ with no pressure signs. More experimentation needed but I like what I am seeing on target with that powder. The speed isn't important to me, but it's there regardless.

I hae used N135 in every 6BR I have owned. Shoots great in all of them. Varget is good with the heavy bullets.
