My gunsmith then rechambered all four of them for the 22-378 Wby. I then send the slowest and fastest barrels to this Black-Star company.

I've got a custom R700 with a BlackStar "SS700" barrel in 250 AI. Not cera-coated, just "electro-polished" tapered bore. It's the best barrel I own for both accuracy and cleanability. It's also never had a bare copper bullet through it, only moly-coated.

As to the 22 creed suggestion that a few have mentioned, I'm sorry but hope to never own anything "creedmore".

It's tempting to think of 22 Creedmoor as something novel. It's really not, being essentially just a 22-250 AI (30-deg) with a bit longer neck. Old P. O. was onto the peculiar efficiency of the Creedmoor's body dimensions a loooong time ago, with his 250 AI.

My 22-6MM Ackley shoots the 80 gr Sierra at 3700 and 3800 FPS in an 8 twist 30” Krieger without any loss of bullets. Have shot 1” (5) shot groups at 500 yards and 3 3/4” (3) shot groups at 1200 yards at these speeds. A friends rifle of the same caliber and barrel except 28” shoots 3700 FPS and 1 1/4 “ groups at 500 yards.
